Bioscientifica Trust seeks early-career endocrinologist to join Board of Trustees

Posted: 22 October 2020

Who we are:

The Bioscientifica Trust exists to assist early-career scientists and clinicians in biomedicine and the life sciences by helping to facilitate networking, cooperative research, and other interactions through the provision of small grants.

What we seek:

We wish to increase the diversity of our governing Board by appointing a Trustee in the early stage of a career in clinical or research endocrinology for an initial three-year term.

The Board meets three times per year, usually by video conference, and you will have the opportunity of working with world renowned endocrinologists as part of an international Board which oversees the governance of the Trust and competitively assesses grant applications.  The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent independent judgement and will also exhibit an ability to work with very senior academics and clinicians as a peer.

Previous experience as a charity trustee is not required but experience of committee work and demonstrable engagement with learned societies or other charitable organisations is preferred.

The Trustees would particularly welcome applications from groups underrepresented in healthcare and academic leadership roles.

This role is not remunerated and applicants should note that Trustees are not permitted to apply for grants from the Trust during their term of office.

How to apply:

Send a brief CV of no more than two pages along with a covering letter explaining why you wish to join the Board as a Trustee and your experience working on committees by e-mail

When to apply:

Applications must be received by 31 December 2020.
