Observership in Belgium, Gent

Sofia Lider, National Institute of Endocrinology 'CI Parhon' in Bucharest

 

Aims: 

1. To go in Belgium (Gent) at Professor Guy T'Sjoen, to see how they treat pheochromocytoma and paragangliomas, and how they do genetic tests for these pathologies

2. To see novelties and therapies that are not accessible in our country

3. To bring new ideas and therapeutic strategies regarding pheochromocytoma and paraganglioma

 

Evaluation: 

The visit that I made in Belgium was particularly useful. I visited the Genetic Lab and learn the NGS technique.

I also did a database with Belgian patients with pheochromocytomas and paragangliomas, analyse it an wrote an article which we are waiting to be published in an international journal of endocrinology.
